Shuck at Home

We’re excited to announce our new organization’s first outreach initiative, Shuck at Home! This June in partnership with Green Crab Nation, we’ll be hosting interactive cooking events, organizing Q&A’s, and delivering fresh, free green crabs to Boston, Chelsea, Somerville, and Cambridge Massachusetts residents.

Free Green Crab Deliveries: Our organization will be working with fisherman Jamie Bassett to deliver free 5 and 10 pound packs of green crabs to Boston, Chelsea, Somerville, and Cambridge residents! Deliveries will take place in mid July.

Accessible Recipes: Greencrab.org is partnering with Boston and NYC chefs who will be sharing recipes designed for home cooks using minimal and flexible ingredients. We’ll also be hosting cooking tutorials and Q&As for participants to learn more about cooking with green crabs.

Kid-Friendly Activities: Working with local scientists and educators, Greencrab.org will be providing guides and hosting interactive activities for those looking to learn more about how green crabs impact their local ecosystems.

Fishing Workshops: Join New England green crab fishers to learn more about the emerging industry. Topics will include fishing for bait and culinary purposes and how to become involved recreationally and commercially.

Remote Screening Events: Learn about the environmental impact of green crabs on the Great Marsh with filmmaker Nubar Alexanian. We’ll be hosting a remote screening event of “Recipe for Disaster” followed by a Q&A with Nubar and project collaborators.
