Report Green Crab Sightings

In New England and Eastern Canada, green crabs have established populations and are sometimes harvested for commercial use. Monitoring and mapping green crabs in these regions is key to building and developing fisheries and understanding green crab’s invasive impact. In other regions such as western North America and Australia where populations are lower, early detection and monitoring are vital for controlling the invasive’s spread.

Invasive green crabs reside in North America, South America, Australia, and Asia and are considered one of the world’s worst invasive species. If you live in green crab’s invasive range, you can help support green crab monitoring and fisheries development by reporting green crabs.

Is there a green crab monitoring organization we should add to this list? Let us know in the comments!
